UNDER BONE (A FILM BY BLACK DAUGHTERS)

UNDER BONE is a narrated experimental-drama featuring ethereal 
vignettes linked by a woman's devotion, grief and ancestral evocation, 
as she traverses stories beneath her rib cage.

Documentary-fiction iteration is comprised of iPhone audio and video footage 
intercutting the original film material for added contextual information.
*Film can be displayed as a 2-channel video installation 
or a traditional theatrical screening.

It's always love when I'm in Leimert Park, things feel real. I wanted to find a way to visually translate that. “It’s Always Love” is derived from the emotion, movement, and rhythm of Leimert. 

 

 

 

SOLVE LA - AfroFuturists - MLK Day

A brief documentation of the SolveLA team from Augustus Hawkins High School, following them on their creative journey in defining and becoming AfroFuturists. In preparation for the MLK Day Parade, each one of the students had to curate and create their own garments from scratch; cutting, tying, and glueing everything together. They'd make their debut during the parade, introducing their new personas to the world.
